Pierre Gasly is set to start the Canadian Grand Prix from the pit lane after late changes were made to his car.
Gasly ended the qualifying session in 20th place as he struggled for grip on his final effort.
Cars are locked in parc fermé conditions after the start of qualifying and only very minor adjustments are allowed penalty-free.
However, Alpine has opted to make more significant modifications to the Frenchman's set up as it seeks to walk away from Canada with a strong result.
Gasly will now shift to the pit lane for the start of the race.
