Sergio Perez is keen to exploit the investigations Red Bull has carried out after describing the RB20 as 'undriveable.'
Perez's lack of form this season could cost Red Bull the constructors' championship with him hauling 144 points to Max Verstappen's 331 after 18 races, with McLaren looking increasingly like winning its first title since 1998.
The Mexican has not claimed a podium finish since third at the Chinese Grand Prix in April, and has not finished higher than sixth since a fourth place in Miami, with rumours around his future continuing to grow despite signing a new contract before the Canadian GP.
One complaint from Perez about the RB20 has been his inability to drive it, with the team completing a deep dive into the problems affecting the machine.
Perez is hoping that these investigations can lead to a swift turnaround.
"The problem I had earlier in the year is that I had a car that I couldn't drive," Perez told media including RacingNews365.
"I was just very uncomfortable with the car and driving into corners not knowing what it was going to do, it was really difficult to maximise performance.
"The team has now found a lot of direction, a lot of our issues so at least we know what the issues are and we can drive around them.
"Before we didn't, and it was very difficult to drive, but I am just happy that we're going in the right direction.
"I feel like [if we continue the form in Azerbaijan], our season can take a massive u-turn and finish strongly."
