Perez makes admission over qualifying performance

The Mexican suffered a fifth straight exit early in Q1 at Silverstone, which forced him to start from the back of the field.

Sergio Perez has set his sights on improving his qualifying performance, after the Mexican admitted he has "fallen short" on Saturday's. The Red Bull driver suffered a fifth straight exit during Q1, which forced him to start from the back of the grid and climb through the field. Red Bull is over 200 points ahead in the Constructors' standings, but Perez's finishing positions in the last few races has put his P2 in the Drivers' Championship under threat from Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. The Mexican admits that it will be a key race to revive his title bid: "Hungary is an important race for me, because it’s about getting my whole weekend in a complete place. "I know I have fallen short in qualifying at times this season, so my focus has to be on having a successful Saturday.

Perez: I have fallen short

Perez revealed that he has been working with the team at the factory to see where he can improve his form. He added: "I know I have the race pace on a Sunday and an incredible car that should be on the podium every weekend. "I have been in Milton Keynes working hard with my team on making improvements."
