Perez critical of stewards after Albon 'block'

It's a fourth straight race that Sergio Perez has failed to reach Q3, with Max Verstappen on pole position once again.

Sergio Perez has claimed that Formula 1 stewards would not consider the fact he felt was blocked in Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying by Alexander Albon. In Q2, Perez suffered multiple deletions of times for exceeding track limits, but a final effort in the segment was good enough for second. But this time too was deleted, leaving him 15th on the grid, having missed Q3 for the fourth straight race as Max Verstappen took pole for the fourth time in a row. Post-session, the Mexican was not happy at the perceived block from Albon exiting the final corner.

Perez frustrated

"We were a bit confused about it, once I got the feedback, it was on the way to Turn 10, it was unclear," Perez told media after the session. "But then all of a sudden, on my final lap, I found Albon and I just went straight - I could not stop. "I lost a tenth or a bit more than that just by going straight, but the stewards were not willing to consider that I was blocked. "You're closing a good lap, and then all of a sudden you are blocked and you have a penalty. The system is wrong. "We will try to recover, it is just frustrating that we don't have a good system and we're not able to consider when these things happen."
