Reigning Formula E world champion Pascal Wehrlein has joked that championship leader Oliver Rowland has "four match points", ahead of the Berlin E-Prix.
The German capital is set to host the 13th and 14th rounds of the 16-race season this weekend, and represents Rowland's first opportunity to secure the title.
Rowland can clinch the crown in the opening race of the weekend on Saturday if he increases his lead from 69 to 87 points, failure to do so will result in the title going to at least Sunday.
For Wehrlein, who sits second in the standings, it means Saturday could mark the end of his FE title defence. However, due to Rowland's significant advantage, the German driver is focusing on the teams' and manufacturers' titles.
Porsche lead the teams' title over Rowland's factory Nissan squad by 10 points, but find themselves four points adrift of the Japanese outfit in the manufacturers' standings.
When asked by RacingNews365 if all focus is on the teams' and manufacturers' titles, Wehrlein answered: "Yeah, that's how it is. The thing is, if it would be in our hands, like if it would be a 30 points deficit, for example, I would say, 'Okay, it's in our hands'.
"If we finish first four times, and he finishes second four times, and I have one pole position or something like that and we pass him, that is in our control.
"But even though, if we would win all four races, and l get all four pole positions and so on, he would need to DNF at least three times or be out of the points.
"And that's where it gets unrealistic, and it gets a bit out of your control, and that's why I don't even waste the time thinking about it. The ambition of the team is clear that they want to fight for the other two championships. And I'm a big part of that, so I try to contribute whatever I can."
The drivers' title is completely off Wehrlein's mind, with him using his best Wimbledon reference to outline the size of Rowland's advantage.
Wehrlein added: "How do you say it in tennis, when you are points ahead and you just need to... match point? Match point. So he has four match points. Yeah, that says everything."
