Oscar Piastri has issued a warning that he is "hungry" and "ready" to go again next season after missing out on a maiden F1 drivers' title to team-mate Lando Norris.
A poor second half of the season saw Piastri slip to third in the drivers' standings, finishing 13 points behind Norris, despite having held a 34-point advantage after Zandvoort.
Following the Dutch Grand Prix, it appeared the Australian driver had the title under control; however, a crash in Azerbaijan and a series of poor results in Austin, Mexico City, and Brazil saw his hopes fade.
In the end, Piastri had too much ground to make up in the final rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, despite rediscovering his early-season pace.
Much of Piastri's struggles were attributed by McLaren to low-grip circuits, with high-grip venues often seeing the driver at his best.
While Piastri faces the disappointment of missing out on the title, he gained valuable experience from his battles with Norris and Max Verstappen, giving him confidence for another charge in 2026.
Asked by Australian station 7Sport if he's fired up for next year, Piastri replied: "Just hungry and ready for it. I'm obviously looking forward to a couple of weeks just to chill out and not think about racing.
"But when we get back into it, there's, there's a lot of things to learn for next year, a lot of differences with the cars and the engines.
"So, you never quite know how you're going to come out of the gate when there's such a big change, but I think we're confident in the people around us.
"And yeah, for myself, I've really gained a lot of confidence from some of the things from this season that I can take forward to next year, regardless of whatever car we've got."
