Following his impressive victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix last weekend, Oscar Piastri is seemingly being taken more seriously as a title contender by F1 fans.

Piastri became the first repeat winner of the 2025 season in Bahrain as he dominated the race following pole position success on Saturday.

The Australian has now moved into second place in the drivers' championship and lingers just three points behind team-mate Lando Norris, who leads the standings after four rounds.

Norris endured a difficult event in Bahrain in comparison to Piastri, which has put a dent in being labelled as the favourite for the title.

RacingNews365 asked F1 fans if they believe Piastri is now the favourite for the title this year following his performance in Bahrain.

An overwhelming 87 per cent of responses picked Piastri as the favourite, with just six per cent choosing Norris and Red Bull's Max Verstappen respectively.

Mercedes' George Russell was also an option to choose from following the Briton's strong start to the season - but with just a 0.4 per cent return, it's clear F1 fans are not yet considering the 27-year-old as a true contender in the title fight.
