Haas has confirmed Rafael Camara will drive for the team in 2027, but so far, Ollie Bearman is still waiting to know his future.

Haas may have confirmed Rafael Camara as one of its drivers for 2027, but it has still not formally announced that Oliver Bearman will remain alongside him.

The team announced on Wednesday that Camara, the reigning FIA Formula 3 champion and a Ferrari Driver Academy member, has signed a multi-year deal to replace Esteban Ocon from next season.

Camara impressed Haas during a private Testing of Previous Cars evaluation at Portimao in August, having already claimed back-to-back junior titles with the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship and last year's F3 crown. He currently leads the F2 standings.

Bearman's side of the 2027 line-up, however, remains unconfirmed in public terms, despite the Briton having signed a multi-year agreement with Haas back in July 2024 that is understood to cover the 2025 and 2026 seasons, and with an option for next year.

Speculation over an early promotion to Ferrari for 2027 has also faded, with the Scuderia having locked in Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton for the long term, closing off any seat at Maranello.

Haas move to reassure

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu addressed the uncertainty when speaking to the media, including RacingNews365, insisting the delay is procedural rather than a sign of doubt over Bearman's future.

"I cannot go into certain contractual details," said Komatsu.

"For me, I'd like to continue with Ollie. He's an incredible talent who has shown amazing growth, and this year he's shown he's ready to be a team leader, and then you all saw how he raced in Singapore, which was very impressive.

"So, it's just a matter of timing, finalising certain details. But yes, we intend to continue with Ollie, and a formal announcement will come in due course."

Bearman finished 12th in Singapore last time out, one lap down after Max Verstappen took victory, but Komatsu's reference to his drive suggests the result carried more substance than the final classification showed.

With no rival team or alternative cockpit currently linked to Bearman, and his Ferrari Driver Academy ties keeping him tethered to Haas, the expectation inside the paddock is that confirmation is a matter of paperwork rather than negotiation.

"A formal announcement will come in due course," added Komatsu.
