Lando Norris has called out McLaren's F1 rivals for underperforming during the Australian Grand Prix weekend following his imperious victory.
Norris won the wet and wild opener from pole position, with team-mate Oscar Piastri slotting into second on the grid.
McLaren's advantage over the grid was clear at the end of qualifying as its closest rival in Max Verstappen was almost four-tenths of a second down on Norris' time.
The chaotic Australian Grand Prix that followed saw Norris clinch the win over Verstappen as he managed to lead every lap bar three during the hectic race.
After qualifying several teams commented on the pace of the McLaren car - however Norris has suggested the gap is not as big as the Melbourne timesheet suggests.
"I don't know why people always talk about the car so much, like Oscar and I drove very well [in qualifying], but the others should not have been as far off as what they were," he told Sky Sports F1.
"That was clear, and I do think we have by a little margin the best car, I'm not denying that, but not everything is about the car, that is clear, but it was a deserved win."
Norris has hailed McLaren for how it executed the race around Albert Park, allowing him to move to the head of the drivers' championship for the first time in his career.
"We made some good decisions as a team, because last year, we would have done the same race and we wouldn't have won because we were not the best at making those decisions, but today we were.
"I give a lot of credit to the team, because they worked hard over the winter to make sure they were ready for a day like today."
