The Miami Sprint has been red-flagged before it has truly gotten underway, following two formation laps.
A heavy rain shower descended on the Miami International Autodrome 30 minutes before the sprint was scheduled to start, resulting in Charles Leclerc crashing.
On the recon laps to the grid, Leclerc aquaplaned on the fast back-straight, his intermediate tyres unable to cope with the amount of water.
He smashed into the barrier at high speed, destroying the right-hand side of the SF-25 machine.
Leclerc was able to carry on at low-speed, but eventually pulled off to the side as the rain continued to fall.
An initial formation lap was completed, before a second then took place. It was during the second formation lap that the race was red-flagged.
