Mercedes trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin has revealed the Brackley-based squad has no more updates planned for the current F1 season.

Mercedes arrived in Austin, Texas with various updates with focus centraling on the front wing, front suspension and floor.

At the front of the field amid the ongoing title fight between Red Bull and McLaren, development is still very much focused on this year's car.

However, Shovlin suggested Mercedes is switching its attention to next year's car as it dials down upgrades with the W15.

“We've brought pretty much everything we're going to bring to the end of the year,” Shovlin told media including RacingNews365

“Now that's not to say that in amongst the learning that you get across the races, we won't be making further changes.

“But there are no major updates planned for us from here on in.”

Mercedes currently sit fourth in the constructors' championship, which would mark its lowest result since the 2012 campaign.

As it seeks to make further impressions on the grid, Shovlin highlighted confidence the floor will offer it a boost.

“We've done all the work that we can to be confident that this will be a step forward,” he said.

“Running it and seeing that you get the results you expect in terms of the pressures and the loads, that's all part of the box-ticking exercise.

“But to get us to this point, we've done as much work as we possibly can to confirm that it should be OK. We'll learn this weekend and will continue to learn in Mexico.”
