George Russell has retained his third place podium result at the Miami Grand Prix following an investigation by the stewards. Almost two hours after the Miami Grand Prix, Red Bull protested the result of the race as it called on the stewards to investigate Mercedes and George Russell. Verstappen raised distress over his team radio that Russell did not slow for a yellow flag issued during the race. The four-time champion was told by his team to keep the gap within five seconds of Russell at the chequered flag, hinting at the possibility that Red Bull would seek to protest the result. A hearing was called in Miami, where Stephen Knowles and Gianpiero Lambiase represented Red Bull while Ron Meadows and George Russell represented Mercedes. Both parties presented their arguments to the stewards. After deliberating the matter, the F1 stewards decided to dismiss the protest, ensuring Russell keeps his podium position. It marks Russell's fourth podium in the opening six races, placing him six points behind Verstappen in the drivers' championship.
