McLaren has made changes to Lando Norris' power unit after the British driver stopped on track during FP2 at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The reigning F1 drivers' champion was denied representative running in the second hour of running on Friday around the streets of Monte Carlo, and the Woking-based squad broke curfew last night investigating the problem.
Following that work, the constructors' champions changed the wiring harness and ESME pack (Energy Store Main Enclosure) in his MCL40, but that swap falls within Norris' permitted allocation for the season.
The 26-year-old managed just eight laps in FP2, finishing P19, whilst Oscar Piastri could only go seventh-quickest in the Principality.
McLaren was fined €30,000 — with €10,000 of that suspended for 12 months — by the FIA because marshals were unable to activate Norris' clutch disengagement system (CDS) to move his car in a timely manner, which is the same issue Liam Lawson's Racing Bulls machine had in Canada.
Norris has endured various reliability issues so far in his title-defence campaign, leaving him only fifth in the drivers' standings on 58 points, 10 clear of his team-mate in sixth.
