Following the conclusion of second practice ahead of the 2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been summoned to the stewards.
The McLaren drivers have been summoned for ignoring the Race Director's instructions after not going around the bollard at the final chicane.
Drivers are supposed to go around the bollard on the infield of the final chicane should they have to cut across it, something both Norris and Piastri failed to do following separate errors.
The stewards' report stated: Alleged breach of Article 12.2.1 i) of the International Sporting Code and noncompliance with Race Director’s Event Note (item 15, document 4) – Escape road
instructions.
Both McLaren drivers failed to set dazzling lap times in what was a second session consisting of mixed conditions.
Norris was the slowest driver and found himself five seconds off the leading pace of Fernando Alonso, whilst Piastri was only slightly quicker in 16th.
The Briton will visit the stewards first at 18:45 local time, before Piastri's summons takes place at 19:00.
