Max Verstappen has recalled the moment he believed fans were "shitting themselves" after a dangerous overtake.
In September 2025, Verstappen competed in a GT3 race at the Nurburgring, claiming victory on an off-weekend from his Formula 1 duties.
During the race, Verstappen passed a slower car with two wheels on the grass, as he recalled his thoughts about people watching along.
[Nurburgring] 24," Verstappen replied when asked in a Q&A session with Team Redline on which of the four classic 24-hour races he would like to win when recounting his victory in a four-hour race with Chris Lulham in September.
"First of all, the track is great, like everything was really nice and also the conditions with a bit of rain in qualifying.
"As soon as I went over the grass, I was like: 'I know the onboard is on, and people are watching it, and I was like: 'I am sure they are shitting themselves right now.'"
"But it was fantastic, I had a lot of fun."
