Max Verstappen has made it clear he wishes to race in the Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2026, but there is a stumbling block in his way.
The twice-around-the-clock enduro is set to take place between the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix on May 16th-17th, but before this, Verstappen must complete a race in preparation, but there is a problem.
All of the NLS races prior to the 24 Hours clash with F1 events, with the season-opener clashing with the Chinese GP on the weekend of March 14th-15th.
Verstappen's GT3 racing team is now partnered with Mercedes, and Motorsport Total has reported that senior Mercedes figures, including Ola Kallenius, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz and Toto Wolff have reached out to 'ring bosses to ask for a postponement, which would clear the path for Verstappen in the 24 Hours.
It is reported that nothing has been decided, but that NLS boss Mike Jager commented to Motorsport Total that: "The request for a possible postponement has been received, but that's all for now.
"We are investigating the possibilities, but nothing has been decided yet. It has to work for everyone."
