Max Verstappen has passed Sebastian Vettel's tally for total laps led in Formula 1, on a landmark day for Red Bull.
Vettel recorded a total of 3,501 laps led during his career, last leading two laps at the 2022 United States GP to sit third behind Lewis Hamilton's 5,487 and Michael Schumacher's 5,111.
Heading into the Emilia Romagna GP, Verstappen was on 3,497 laps led, meaning he needed a minimum of five laps led to pass his fellow Red Bull champion.
From second, Verstappen led from Turn 1 at Imola and was not headed to sit on 3,560 laps led after winning his 65th race, now just 26 races behind Schumacher's 91.
He is also closing in on the most laps led for a single team, but is still 828 behind Schumacher's record for Ferrari of 4,388. In comparison, Hamilton led 4,210 for Mercedes during his 12 years.
Elsewhere, Verstappen's win was a landmark for Red Bull in two areas.
The win was the team's 124th of the 21st century, eclipsing the 123 of Ferrari, despite Red Bull's maiden win only coming in 2009.
Since then, only in 2015 has it failed to win a race whilst Ferrari went winless in 2014, 2016, 2020 and 2021.
Meanwhile, the Imola win made Red Bull only the second team to win its 400th grand prix start, matching Williams at the 2001 French GP, when Ralf Schumacher won.
