Red Bull Motorsport Advisor Helmut Marko has conceded he could "never dare to dream" of the team securing its 100th F1 race victory. Max Verstappen dominated from lights to flag at the Canadian Grand Prix to lead Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin home by over nine seconds and extend his championship lead to 69 points over teammate Sergio Perez. It was the Dutchman's 41st career victory, a feat that draws him level with Ayrton Senna in the all-time winners' list, and Red Bull's century. Verstappen leads the way for the team, ahead of Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo and Perez, who have all secured a place on the top step of the podium since four-time champion Vettel's breakthrough in 2009.
'Unfortunate' Mateschitz not here
Speaking to Sky Sports after the event at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Marko paid tribute to Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who passed away during the United States Grand Prix weekend last season. "For us to have 100 wins now is unbelievable," said Marko. "100 wins, that was something we could never imagine, or never dare to dream of. It is very unfortunate that Mateschitz can no longer experience this." Verstappen has taken six victories from the opening eight races, with Perez taking the other two. Suggesting Red Bull could secure a win at every race this year, Marko added: "So far it is going very well and Max is in incredible form. We have 100 wins and then 114 are also possible."
