The grid for the final sprint race of the 2024 F1 season is set to be decided with sprint qualifying at the Lusail circuit ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix.
After just a single practice session, the field head into sprint qualifying with Charles Leclerc of Ferrari sitting atop the times ahead of McLaren pair Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Carlos Sainz was fourth with the top two teams nearly half a second clear of fifth-place Yuki Tsunoda.
New world champion Max Verstappen was 11th for Red Bull, one place behind Lewis Hamilton.
But who will be fastest in the shorter sprint qualifying, with the segments 12-10-8 minutes long. Drivers must also use the medium tyres in SQ1 and SQ2, before a switch to softs for the sprint pole shootout.
