Liam Lawson is to receive a new race engineer at Racing Bulls ahead of the 2026 F1 season, RacingNews365 can confirm.
After working with Ernesto Desiderio upon his return from Red Bull after the 2025 Chinese GP, effectively swapping with Yuki Tsunoda, Lawson has now been paired with Alexandre Iliopoulos for the new season.
Iliopoulos has worked for the Faenza-based team throughout its various guises of Toro Rosso, AlphaTauri and Racing Bulls since joining in October 2016 as a trackside tyre performance engineer.
In January 2020, he became performance engineer at AlphaTauri before being promoted to senior performance engineer at Racing Bulls in January 2024.
Prior to F1, Iliopoulos worked for Michelin between November 2011 and October 2016, having completed degrees in aeronautics, including a Master of Science degree from Imperial College London.
New team-mate Arvid Lindblad is to be paired with veteran Pierre Hamelin. Hamelin has worked with Pierre Gasly, Nyck de Vries, Daniel Ricciardo, Lawson, and Isack Hadjar as race engineer, whilst also working on Max Verstappen's car when the Dutchman was a rookie at Toro Rosso in 2015.
