Liam Lawson has pinpointed changes made by his Racing Bulls team as one factor behind his improved run of F1 form.
Lawson initially struggled on his return to the team from Red Bull after his axing, but has scored points in four of the seven races since a breakthrough made at the Austrian GP.
This included a career-best finish of fifth place in Azerbaijan, having also taken a career-highest third on the grid, with the New Zealander pinpointing increased confidence in his machine from changes made at the Red Bull Ring to the suspension as a key reason for his upturn.
"I've felt pretty good and the speed has been there most of the year, and it has just been the consistency which has been coming recently," Lawson explained to media, including RacingNews365, upon F1's return from the summer break.
"I'm very aware that in Formula 1, it is very tough sometimes to keep that, so I'm just trying to carry that form and learn from what has been working, and I know at some point, I will get into some difficulties.
"But in general, I feel pretty good, the car is fast, and I'm trying to carry on that form.
"Recently, things have been working for us as a team. I've switched sides of the garage [from 2024], and the relationships you form with people on your side of the garage just get better over time, and I've been understanding the car more.
"We made some changes around Austria time, and it made the car more comfortable for me, and that helped a lot, and if I reflect on the first half of the year, it's just getting more comfortable as the year has gone on.
"That is what probably has brought some of the results."
