Liam Lawson highlights 'good place' after dream first half to F1 season

Liam Lawson has stated he is in a “good place” after enjoying a successful first half to the 2026 F1 season.

Racing Bulls has relished in a competitive period at the start of the new regulation cycle, fielding a car that has frequently featured inside the top 10.

Lawson has scored points at eight out of the 11 grand prix events staged so far, placing him ninth in the drivers' championship.

The period has marked a much more encouraging time compared to 12 months ago, when he was still recovering from an early-season demotion from Red Bull.

Assessing his season so far, Lawson told F1: “When you're in a good rhythm and you find things that are working for you, it's obviously a good feeling.

“And getting in a routine of doing that has been something that, especially during the European part, we've had less travel and spent a bit more time at home.

“It's been a good opportunity to just focus a little bit more on myself as a driver and as an athlete, so I've just tried to do that.

“Also on the development side of the team, making sure that we're prepared each weekend – not just having more meetings, but having effective meetings and discussions about what we're trying to achieve. I think that's been working very well.”

Lawson made his F1 debut in 2023, with his appearances across the first two years of his career coming from call-ups in place of Daniel Ricciardo.

Having now settled into the rhythm of understanding the demands of a full-time seat, Lawson feels he is driving as strongly as he ever has.

“Yeah, I mean naturally the more experience you have, it's going to be like that. 

“But also obviously the results have been better this year and so that's going to make you feel in a good place.”
