Lewis Hamilton has revealed further details about the scale of adjustment he is going through after moving to Ferrari from Mercedes.

After 12 seasons with the Brackley squad, Hamilton left to join Maranello for 2025, with one of the biggest problems he was facing being getting used to a Ferrari power unit having only ever run a Mercedes unit, even in his spell with McLaren between 2007 and 2012.

Hamilton had already vocal amid his struggles to adapt to the SF-25 that engine braking was something he was struggling with, having never run it at Mercedes, as the seven-time champion, whose best grand prix result this season is fourth at Imola, revealed another key factor working against him.

"It is hard to explain, it is just the characteristics through the corner, the corner balance, the ride height, a lot is different," Hamilton explained when asked about the difficulties he is facing by RacingNews365.

"How soft the car is, when I was at Mercedes, the car was very stiff, we were running quite stiff and low to get the downforce, and everything is different.

"The cambers, everything is different, the way the engine behaves, the engine braking, all these things are different, and I've never had to use engine braking before.

"All these different components get thrown in, and it takes a bit of time to get used to it, but I am enjoying getting used to it."
