Lando Norris has announced the formation of his own racing team, which will be set up in the junior categories in 2027.

The reigning world champion confirmed the news on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix as he goes in pursuit of a third successive race win.

Norris' own team will be part of several junior racing series next year, including the FIA Formula 3 Championship, which is a support series at a number of F1 events.

The team, called LN4Fusion, has acquired selected assets from AIX Racing and is also targeting an entry onto the Formula 2 grid, seen as the last stepping stone for drivers hoping to reach F1.

“We've created a racing team, LN4Fusion,” Norris wrote on social media.

“I was lucky enough to achieve my dream and now I want to help others achieve theirs.

“Built with people I trust, people who’ve experienced all levels of motorsport and know exactly what it takes to win. The goal is to become the leading junior single-seater team. We'll be on the grid in Italian F4, FREC, F3, and are working on a place in British F4 and F2.”

Norris has also created his own junior driver programme, offering funding for up-and-coming talents to help them realise their racing dream.

“That’s not all. We’ve also created the LN4 Legacy Programme to fund and support talented young drivers who might otherwise not get the opportunity,” Norris added.

“Giving them the support they need on and off track to have the best chance of success.

“To see this go from an idea to something real is incredible. Huge thanks to everyone who has played a part in making this happen.

“Excited for what's to come. See you on the grid in ’27.”

Norris is not the only current driver with his own team, as Max Verstappen established his own outfit a handful of years ago.

However, while Norris is targeting single-seater competition, Verstappen's squad mainly focuses on GT racing.
