Lando Norris has narrowly been backed by Formula 1 fans to beat Max Verstappen to win the Mexico City Grand Prix.
In a RacingNews365 poll which started after Norris' sublime pole position at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, fans were asked to vote for who they believe win will the Mexican GP.
Unsurprisingly, Norris received the most votes, claiming 33.91%. However, the McLaren driver did not claim a comfortable victory, rather the complete opposite.
Norris received just 1.59% more votes than Verstappen, who fans expect to be in the hunt for the win despite starting from fifth on the grid.
The four-time world champion was downbeat after a difficult qualifying, insisting that he did not have the pace to challenge for victory. F1 fans clearly disagree with the Red Bull driver!
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton start in second and third, with both drivers receiving a reasonable share of the votes.
A respectable 14.81% of voters chose Leclerc for victory, while Hamilton collected 12.97%. A win for Hamilton would represent both his first victory and podium for Ferrari.
As for championship leader Oscar Piastri, only 3.66% of voters picked him to secure a shock victory from seventh on the grid.
