Lando Norris has revealed he feels it could be "hard" trying to extract the performance he wants from his McLaren, despite a strong Hungarian GP Friday.
Norris topped both FP1 and FP2 ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri in second, becoming just the third driver this season to complete the Friday sweep - after Piastri at Imola and Charles Leclerc in Monaco.
Neither of those two drivers went on to win those respective races, but it was not smooth sailing for Norris, who had a big moment at the final corner in FP2, losing control and nearly spinning after dipping a wheel into the grass.
He then narrowly avoided an embarrassing crash into Piastri on the pit exit, as he detailed a mixed day where he was strong but had several mistakes.
"The car since the first lap [has felt] pretty good, and all my laps have been decent," Norris explained.
"But I think you should dismiss this session, and it was a little bit messier, on low-fuel, high-fuel, there were a few more mistakes.
"But it is all part of practice and trying to find the limits in different areas.
"I know what I want from the car, but it might be a bit harder trying to get it."
