Kimi Antonelli has revealed how he has completed some Mercedes homework in the gap between the Saudi Arabian and Miami Grands Prix.

After a run of five races in six weeks, including a triple header across Japan-Bahrain-Saudi Arabia, Antonelli spent the off week in the Mercedes Brackley factory delving into the data behind his impressive start.

From the five rounds, he has 38 points and is ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the standings, having already broken two all-time F1 records in the Japanese GP for the youngest driver to set a fastest lap, and the youngest to lead a race.

The Italian is also currently studying for his final exams at school, but revealed how he took on some extra homework during the off-weekend to prepare for Miami.

"Having a week off was really, really good because we had a pretty intense run of races, and having one week free really helped to gather the information during these five races," Antonelli  told media, including RacingNews365.

"I rested mentally and also re-watched and analysed everything, because when you have consecutive races, it is a bit hard ot put on track what you learned from the previous weekend, just because you don't have time to process and understand it.

"Having a week off really helped me to understand what I could have done better, where I did good and why I did good or badly, so it was really important.

"I spent a few days at the factory with the team trying to analyse and previous races, but also trying to prepare for th enext races, so it was a really productive week and helped me on the mental side just to spend a few days at home and disconnecting a little bit to be ready for this weekend."
