Kimi Antonelli has received a special message from Nico Rosberg after emulating the 2016 F1 world champion in the Chinese GP.
Antonelli claimed the first victory of his career in Shanghai last time out, becoming the first Italian to win since Giancarlo Fisichella at the 2006 Malaysian GP, and the 116th driver overall to claim an F1 win.
The second-youngest driver to ever do so, Antonelli's first win matched Rosberg's feat of also claiming his first win in Shanghai, with the German doing so in the 2012 race, which was Mercedes' first in F1 as a constructor since 1955.
The win made Antonelli just the seventh driver to win for Mercedes in F1, following Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, and George Russell.
Rosberg, who helped to guide Antonelli's early career in karting, sent his former protege a special message following his success.
