Isack Hadjar has labelled Red Bull’s race starts as “shocking” as the team continues to struggle off the line.
Both Hadjar and team-mate Max Verstappen made poor getaways at the start of Saturday’s sprint race at Silverstone.
The pair lost positions on the opening lap, with Hadjar eventually crossing the line in ninth, just outside the points.
Hadjar was quick to highlight the recurring issue over the team radio after the race, having experienced similar problems at previous events.
"Those starts, it’s the same story now, it’s just annoying, guys. I know it’s going to be my fault again, I bet so," Hadjar said.
His frustrations had not eased when he climbed out of the car, suggesting there was “no point” in entering races knowing he would lose positions off the line.
“We can’t get starts,” Hadjar told Viaplay. “We just don’t understand it.
“There is no point going to a race if you know you’re going to lose four places straight away.
“In my case, I lost even more than that. It’s shocking, all the time."
Verstappen endured a similarly poor race as he fell to sixth place at the chequered flag, despite starting from third.
Hadjar missed out on a point in fine margins after being involved in a late-race scrap with Liam Lawson, who deployed an aggressive defence to stay ahead.
The matter was sent to the stewards, who determined that Lawson should be handed a warning.
