Isack Hadjar-Liam Lawson Red Bull decision made ahead of Azerbaijan GP

Isack Hadjar is to return to Red Bull for this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Red Bull has officially confirmed. 

Hadjar has been ruled out of the last three grands prix across the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain owing to a broken wrist he sustained during training in the F1 summer break, with Racing Bulls' Lawson called up to the senior team to pair with Max Verstappen. 

As RacingNews365 reported on Monday, the French driver has now been declared fit and will return to the team for the Baku race this weekend. 

"Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend," began a team statement.

"Having made a successful recovery from his wrist injury, Isack will return to action at the Baku City Circuit on Thursday."

Lawson back to Racing Bulls

The news of Hadjar's return means that Lawson will return to Racing Bulls, and partner Arvid Lindblad.

Lawson performed well during his three races thus far, with a seventh in Zandvoort and a sixth in Madrid, as he took 14th in Italy.

"The team would like to sincerely thank Liam for his professionalism, dedication, and hard work over the past three races," continued Red Bull's statement.

"Stepping in under challenging circumstances, he delivered some impressive performances and made a valuable contribution to the team. 

"We wish him all the best as he returns to Racing Bulls."

Lawson's return means Yuki Tsunoda steps down from his Racing Bulls race seat, where he picked up a point in the Italian GP. 

Heading into the Baku weekend, Racing Bulls has 77 points, nine ahead of Alpine in sixth on 68.
