Isack Hadjar has offered a clear stance that he does not 'feel ready" to be promoted to Red Bull, but is "curious" to partner Max Verstappen.
The French-Algerian driver has been backed by many to find himself alongside the four-time F1 champion potentially next season, after seriously impressing in the opening rounds.
Since crashing on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Hadjar has been one of the stars of the campaign.
The F1 rookie has been a regular in both Q3 and the points, to the extent that Liam Lawson has been outshone since his demotion from Red Bull.
Speculation surrounding a potential promotion to the Milton Keynes-based outfit has also increased due to Yuki Tsunoda's recent struggles alongside Verstappen.
However, some, including Nico Rosberg, have insisted that a promotion right now would be bad for Hadjar's career due to the challenges of the RB21, something he agrees with.
"It's fair to say that because Liam and Yuki are quality drivers, so it's normal to think that," Hadjar told select media, including RacingNews365. "I would obviously, I'm just curious.
"It's the only word I can use of being next to Max, only thing I can say. But for sure, I don't feel ready. That's a fact. I think it's good to take experience where I'm at.
"I'm enjoying so much every weekend, learning a lot. It's a car I enjoy driving. We see in the future, but as a Red Bull Junior driver, the trajectory is normal to go there [to Red Bull]."
Hadjar has quickly become valued at Racing Bulls, with CEO Peter Bayer joking that he would "handcuff" the driver to stop him leaving, a comment which has pleased the 20-year-old.
"I think it's good," added Hadjar. "Just means that I'm well integrated in the team. They like me, and I'm happy where I'm at right now. They value me quite highly.
"So I can only be grateful, and I'm very happy with the current situation. It's very good for a rookie."
