Max Verstappen produced a star drive at the São Paulo Grand Prix last weekend, rising from the pit lane to third place.
It earned the Dutchman an abundance of praise as he put on an astonishing display to recover what had been a difficult weekend.
However, championship leader Lando Norris won the grand prix to extend his title lead to 24 points over Oscar Piastri, while Verstappen now sits in third - 49 points down on Norris.
With just three rounds remaining, time is running out for Verstappen to close the gap to Norris and claim his fifth title.
A triple header marks the final three rounds of the year in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi respectively, with Qatar also featuring a sprint race.
But is it now too late for Verstappen to close the gap?
