In photos: What the 2022 F1 grid looks like so far

F1 car launches have been coming thick and fast over the last week or so, with more than half of 2022's new designs being presented. RacingNews365.com runs through the grid so far.

Wednesday marks a brief pause in F1's 'launch season' after a rapid-fire sequence of car reveals for the 2022 rules reset. So far, Haas, Red Bull, Aston Martin, McLaren, AlphaTauri and Williams have presented their new cars to the world, but how many of them are 'real' and how do they compare aesthetically? RacingNews365.com presents a run down of all the 2022 F1 cars launched so far.

Haas VF-22

Haas became the first F1 team to launch for 2022 on 4 February, showcasing the VF-22 in a digital reveal. While Haas pretty much abandoned their 2021 season to focus on the new design, team boss Guenther Steiner explained that the renders released represent the car in an early stage of development. The full car will not be seen until the first morning of pre-season testing in Barcelona on 23 February.

Red Bull RB18

Red Bull followed on from Haas some five days later and this time fans were shown a physical car model. However, it was evident that the team were using an updated F1 show car with their 2022 livery, which prominently displayed new title partner Oracle in what is believed to be the biggest sponsorship deal in F1 history . A shakedown with the full RB18 is planned, but the team are keeping their precise plans quiet.

Aston Martin AMR22

Aston Martin treated fans to the first 'real' car presentation of the launch season when they revealed the all-new AMR22 from the company's Gaydon headquarters. Several clear design differences to F1's show car were immediately evident as the covers came off, along with a tweaked livery. The team then went one step further and released images of their 2022 challenger on track during a shakedown at Silverstone.

McLaren MCL36

McLaren also took the opportunity to present their 'real' 2022 car during a physical launch at their Technology Centre in Woking, something Technical Director James Key said he felt "proud" to be doing . Technical details aside, McLaren caught the eye with a striking new livery that draws similarities to the one-off Gulf colour scheme from last year's Monaco Grand Prix, even though the oil company have not increased their commitment .

AlphaTauri AT03

AlphaTauri opted for an online reveal as drivers Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda took centre stage in a fashion-inspired presentation. Gasly and Tsunoda were then given an opportunity to shake down the AT03, though the team have not shared any shots of the car in action.

Williams FW44

Williams became the sixth - and as of now latest - team to launch their 2022 F1 car on Tuesday, revealing the FW44. Following in the footsteps of Red Bull, the team initially showcased a bold new livery on an adapted show car, but soon took to the track with their actual new design at Silverstone for a shakedown ahead of pre-season testing. It also emerged that the Grove-based outfit have removed the Senna 'S' tribute logo from their car , expressing a desire to "move on".

What about Mercedes and Ferrari?

F1's launch season will resume on Thursday as Ferrari pull the covers off their F1-75, the name having been chosen to mark the 75th anniversary of the company's first production car rolling out of the factory in Maranello. Mercedes, the winner of the last eight Constructors' titles, follow on Friday, with Lewis Hamilton set to fully emerge from his winter silence to join new teammate George Russell for the unveiling of the W13. Alpine will launch on 21 February, two days before the first pre-season test session in Barcelona, where Alfa Romeo are planning to use an interim livery prior to becoming the final team to show off their 2022 car on 27 February.
