Ferrari have displayed their updated SF-23 Formula 1 car ahead of the free practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix.

After taking only one podium and one Pole Position, last season's championship runners-up have been left behind by the dominant Red Bull team in 2023.

The team had been promising updates to the SF-23 as the European season approached, and have caused a stir by introducing very noticeable changes to the car.

The development which stands out the most is their reprofiled sidepod design - a change which Ferrari had previously played down - which has taken visible steps towards the 'Red Bull' design approach.

They have moved away from their scooped 'bathtub' design sidepods, and opted for a design which has a more distinct sweep down towards the rear, which is more akin to the Red Bull RB19 concept.

The new bodywork will be fitted on Carlos Sainz's car for free practice one, whilst Charles Leclerc will run the old bodywork to enable side-by-side tests.
