It took only 19 minutes for the first red flag of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix to be flown after Alex Albon came to a halt on the exit of Turn 12 at Imola.
The Williams driver was on a push lap when his Williams car suddenly appeared to lose all power, with Sky Sports F1 commentator Harry Benjamin describing it as a "complete cut out".
Albon lost all power whilst going down the hill towards Acque Minerali, before pulling onto the grass just prior to Turn 13.
A statement from Williams described that "Alex’s car shut down after going over a kerb.
"The cause is currently unknown and will be investigated when the car is back."
Williams' latest setback comes after the news that Albon will remain with the Grove-based team for the foreseeable future, as a result of signing a new multi-year contract.
At the time of the first red flag of the weekend, George Russell sat at the top of the timesheets, ahead of Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton.
