George Russell is set to make a massive £30 million per season under his new Mercedes contract, which was only recently announced.

According to reports by British tabloids, The Express and The Daily Mail, the five-time grand prix winner has become the third-highest earning driver in F1, after Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

The Red Bull driver is believed to earn £48 million per year, with the Ferrari driver, Russell's former team-mate, on a purported £45 million per campaign.

The length of Russell's new deal was not disclosed by Mercedes, with only 2026 initially confirmed.

However, it is largely expected that either the team or the driver will have an option for 2027. Although some believe it could be a straight multi-year deal.

Contract negotiations between the parties took longer than anticipated, with it widely suggested that the duration of the deal was a sticking point.

Either way, the British driver is set to earn an eye-watering amount in F1 next season, when the power unit and chassis regulations are overhauled.
