Christian Horner is expecting the "usual people" to be quick in this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, which looks set to held in sweltering conditions.

Extreme heat awaits the drivers this weekend in the Hungaroring, adding an extra element to what is already set to be an enthralling weekend.

Red Bull has seen its advantage cut by McLaren and Mercedes at recent events, with the latter winning the last two races.

Based on recent performances in Hungary, both McLaren and Mercedes are expected to challenge Red Bull for victory.

Max Verstappen is no longer the clear favourite heading into races, whilst the heat could also play an important role.

"It's going to be interesting to see how we perform there, it could be hot," Horner told media including RacingNews365

"I think it'll be the usual people that are quick at the moment. It's going to be an interesting venue.

"I'm sure it'll be very, very close once again."

Horner praises Mercedes

Very little has separated Red Bull and McLaren in particular since the Miami Grand Prix, whilst Mercedes came alive at Silverstone.

It means the smallest of errors in qualifying can be the difference between starting from pole or on the third row.

Red Bull's team principal praised Mercedes for its British Grand Prix performance, which saw the German team secure a front row lockout before Lewis Hamilton claimed victory.

"When you're at the sharp end, it's all marginal gains," Horner said. "Mercedes were quick in Silverstone.

"They got a pole and a front row lock-out, and they executed a good race, well Lewis did. Which is why, I guess, they put Bono up on the podium."
