Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has insisted there is "not one ounce" of him that wishes to have a repeat of the 2021 Formula 1 season. Two years ago, Red Bull was embroiled in an intense title fight against Mercedes. Max Verstappen went head-to-head with Lewis Hamilton for the title, with the former winning out in controversial circumstances at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The duo battled for the entire season and the rivalry extended beyond the drivers, with Horner and Mercedes’ Toto Wolff exchanging verbal blows during the campaign. Although it produced one of the most exciting F1 seasons for some time, the high-intensity nature of the year is not something that Horner wishes to experience again. "There is not one ounce of me that wishes that,” he told media including RacingNews365.com . "I think I'm still in recovery from 2021. The results like [at Spa-Francorchamps], it’s the combination of teamwork. "That’s why I sent Greg [Reeson], the garage technician who looks after all the tyres in the garage to go and get the Constructors’ trophy. "It’s about every member of the team, every department in the factory, you're doing their job, you don't achieve these kinds of results by accident."
Red Bull enjoying a ‘golden moment’
Following the hotly-contested 2021 season, Red Bull has enjoyed huge success, dominating last year’s campaign en route to double championship glory. It has also been extremely rapid this season, winning all 12 races staged so far and setting a new record for the most consecutive F1 wins, which is at 13 and counting. As it looks set to clinch another double championship this year, Horner hailed the effort involved to bring the team into such a position. "I think that it's a golden moment for our team," he said. "And I think that [I have to] just absolutely take my hat off to everybody behind the scenes, everybody that's working as hard as they are to achieve this kind of performance."
