Lewis Hamilton will face no further action after being summoned by Formula 1 stewards after an incident with Mercedes teammate George Russell in Belgian Grand Prix Qualifying. Both British drivers were summoned after Hamilton was adjudged to have left the track and rejoined in an "unsafe manner" at the Eau Rouge-Raidillon sequence in Q2. He cut across the inside of the run-off at the top of the hill, with Russell close behind, but the stewards found that Hamilton was taking action to avoid impeding Valtteri Bottas's fast-approaching Alfa Romeo. Russell told stewards that he had received the same warning as Hamilton, and that he was "fully aware" of what Hamilton was doing with the manoeuvre "at no point unsafe." The stewards agreed and opted against no further action with Hamilton set to start third, Russell eighth and Bottas in 13th, moving up one place after Kevin Magnussen received a three-place grid drop to 16th after impeding pole-sitter Charles Leclerc.
