Lewis Hamilton has released a statement on social media addressing his criticism of Mercedes' strategy after last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.
The seven-time world champion started in an impressive third at the Marina Bay Circuit following a very positive qualifying but dropped to sixth in the race.
What hurt the 39-year-old's race was starting on the soft compound, as all but one other driver on the grid started on the Pirelli's medium rubber.
After the race, Hamilton revealed that he "battled" to start on the yellow-walled medium tyres and was "perplexed" as to why Mercedes wanted to run himself and George Russell on different strategies.
Hamilton's strategy failure left the 105-time race winner "so angry"; however, over the weekend he addressed the situation to his supporters.
"Hey all, heading into the weekend focused on training for the next race," Hamilton wrote in an Instagram story.
"I know there has been a lot of chat around the last one and our strategy in Singapore which just didn't work.
"When that happens it's natural to be frustrated and easy for me to speak out in that frustration.
"We knew starting on soft tyres was a bold and risky move but one that could give us an advantage at the start and I ultimately agreed with that recommendation. We also miscalculated what others might do."

Hamilton and Mercedes 'cool'
Despite Hamilton's frustration with how Singapore unfolded, he has stressed that things remain "cool" with the Silver Arrows.
Hamilton has just six races remaining as a Mercedes driver before embarking on his seismic switch to Ferrari.
Until he makes that switch at the end of the year, the Briton has insisted that his and the team's support of one another will not end.
"Make no mistake though, things are cool with the team," Hamilton added. "As with all successful partnerships, you have to have some lows to have the highs.
"We're not afraid of those tricky conversations and challenging moments which is why we have achieved so much together.
"We will support each other until the very end. It's all love. See you in Austin."
