Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton believes the form book from the Monaco GP in 2019 no longer applies, with both Mercedes and Red Bull fielding radically different cars to the ones raced during their last titanic battle in Monte Carlo.
The British driver is very wary of the challenge to Mercedes' championship lead this weekend, with Red Bull traditionally strong on the streets of the Principality.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Hamilton explained that he feels the challenge of beating Red Bull is particularly strong for Monaco.
"It's gonna be..we don't know what to expect naturally," Hamilton told select members of the media, including RacingNews365.com
"Red Bull are incredibly close. Two years ago, it's a much different car, we have different tyres.
"Red Bull, are going to be very, very hard to beat this weekend. This is a track that really has always been strong for them. And, given how close the gap is between us, you can imagine this weekend, they could be ahead.
"But we're going to do everything we can to make sure that's not the case."
