Lewis Hamilton has been sensationally chosen as the driver who should round-out Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso's hypothetical 24 Hours of Le Mans line up.
The pair have long shared their desire to team up for the famous race at the Circuit de la Sarthe, but with the former's father, Jos, not interested, the two F1 drivers' champions would need to source a third driver.
F1 fans, as per a result poll by RacingNews365, believe that person should be Hamilton, despite the strained relationship he has previously had with both in F1 at different points.
The 40-year-old beat a crowded field of talent, including Nyck de Vries, who has been name-dropped by Verstappen as a likely option in the past.
However, it should be pointed out that Hamilton did not receive an absolute majority of the votes cast.
However, the Dutch driver only secured slightly over nine percent of responses in his favour, with only fellow World Endurance Championship (WEC) stars Sebastian Buemi and Kamui Kobayashi procuring less of the vote.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who has voiced his interest in competing in endurance racing in the past, garnered the third-highest share, but the only alternative to get close to Hamilton was 2015 Le Mans winner Nico Hulkenberg.
The Stake driver got over a quarter of all votes, just over three percent behind the seven-time F1 drivers' champion.
