Haas F1 have released the first photos of their car for the 2021 season replete with a new livery which has more than a little Russian feel to it. The photos have prompted mixed reactions from fans, with some praising the retro-style livery and others noting the irony of an American team’s car being plastered with the colours of the Russian flag as they unveiled Uralkali, the company owned by Dmitry Mazepin, father of new driver Nikita Mazepin, as title sponsor. The Russian influence on the new car is clear for all to see, and despite the fact Mazepin junior will not be allowed to race under the country’s flag this season due to the ongoing ban imposed on their competitors by global doping authority WADA, the car appears to have been cleared by the FIA. RacingNews365.com understands that both the FIA and CAS, the international sports tribunal, have not raised objections to the livery, and have ruled it conforms to ongoing guidelines, paving the way for the car to race in its current form in F1 this coming season. Haas F1 only presented the new livery of the car today with its title sponsor Uralkali, meaning fans will have to wait until winter testing in Bahrain later this month to see the VF-21 in full.
