Max Verstappen will start his hunt for a fifth straight F1 crown from pole in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Two qualifying laps in Q3 were good enough for pole as the world champion beat both rivals Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Norris only needs a podium of any kind to claim the title, even if Verstappen wins, whilst if that does happen, Verstappen needs Norris to finish fourth or lower.
For Piastri, he needs to finish either first or second, with a win meaning it does not matter where Verstappen finishes, and Norris needing to be sixth or lower.
Lewis Hamilton's woes continued for Ferrari as he took 16th in yet another Q1 exit.
