Tyler Reddick has become the second NASCAR Cup driver to lock himself into the next round of the Playoffs with victory in overtime at Kansas for 23XI Racing.
On the final two-lap shootout, an aggressive move to the bottom allowed Reddick to squeeze by and into the lead as long-time leader Denny Hamlin tried to make places back after pitting along with Reddick for four fresh tyres.
A slow restart and contact with Kyle Larson put pay to Hamlin's hopes of a second Kansas win of the year, but his 23XI Racing squad won through Reddick for the fifth victory for the Hamlin, Michael Jordan co-owned team.
Bubba Wallace, who won this race 12 months ago was looking good for a top 10 result, but a tyre failure put pay to his hopes as regular-season champion Martin Truex Jr's hopes of advancing to the Round of 12 took a dent after a cut tyre caused a crash within the first five laps.
The next race is the Bristol Night Race, with the four lowest drivers in points eliminated while the remaining 12 head onto the next round.
