Formula E pre-season testing in Valencia is under threat after flash floods devastated south-eastern Spain.

The BBC has reported that a year's worth of rain fell on one town near Valencia, with at least 51 fatalities recorded after the torrential rain, with dozens feared missing.

FE is due at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo for pre-season testing ahead of season 11 next week, with the MotoGP season finale also due to be held at the track in mid-November, with footage showing the roads to and from the circuit being inaccessible by car.

FE has now issued a statement, with teams and drivers scheduled to be on-site for the test starting on Monday 4th November.

"Our thoughts go out to those affected by the extreme weather conditions in Spain," read the statement.

"We are working closely with the local authorities and representatives of the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia ahead of the scheduled FIA Formula E official test next week.

"Due to damage to the main access road caused by a burst river bank nearby, the circuit is currently inaccessible by vehicle. Four members of Formula E staff stayed at the circuit last night as a precaution, but are safe and able to transfer to and from the circuit by foot.

"Track conditions show no signs of damage, and we continue to assess garages and freight. Alternative access routes in and out of the circuit are currently being investigated.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates in due course."

MotoGP has also issued a statement, with the final round set to be a title-decider between Jorge Martin and reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia, with Martin holding a 17-point lead.

"The entire MotoGP community wants to send our support to all those affected by the flooding in Valencia," it read.

"Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones. We're thinking of you and everyone assisting in the recovery efforts.

"MotoGP is in contact with the circuit and local authorities to offer our support and assistance as we work together to recover as soon as possible."

The circuit itself indicated that the track was un-damaged but that the surrounding infrastructure including car parks were severely damaged by the floods.
