Former Ferrari Chairman's Aston Martin investment claims untrue

RacingNews365 understands recent reports regarding Luca di Montezemolo are wide of the mark.

Former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo has not invested into Aston Martin, RacingNews365 understands. Di Montezemolo was a vital figure in Ferrari's success having taken over as President in 1991, before going on to become Chairman in 2004. But his time with the Italian marque came to an end in 2014, when he resigned as President four years after handing over Chairmanship to John Elkann. Recent reports have linked di Montezemolo to investment into luxury British manufacturer Aston Martin, which has seen its stock rise since owner Lawrence Stroll introduced the brand to F1 in 2021. The team has gone from strength to strength this season, securing six podium finishes in 10 races courtesy of Fernando Alonso. Di Montezemolo had supposedly bought a stake in the manufacturer, investing a reported sum of $4,000,000 in the belief it would match Ferrari's current value in the near future. However, RacingNews365 understands that there has been no investment made by di Montezemolo into Stroll's company, despite the connections between the duo. Stroll was an investor in fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger when it was a partner of Ferrari .
