Charles Leclerc's former F1 race engineer Xavier Marcos is working in a crucial position within the Cadillac F1 team ahead of the squad's 2026 debut.
It was confirmed in January that Marcos had joined Cadillac's sportscar division after departing Ferrari, where he had worked for over six years.
During that time, he worked as Leclerc's race engineer from the Monegasque's debut season in 2019 and achieved multiple race wins with the driver.
However, he was replaced by Leclerc's former performance engineer Bryan Bozzi in May, 2024.
Marcos is now holding the position of chief race engineer at the Cadillac F1 squad as it prepares to join the grid next season.
The American outfit will become an 11th team in 2026 when fresh technical regulations come into play.
Cadillac will run power units supplied by Ferrari as General Motors continues to build its own engine for the years ahead.
Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas will be its drivers for the maiden campaign, with Graeme Lowdon leading the squad in the team principal role.
