The F1 world has had a first look at Red Bull's latest upgrade package for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Red Bull has secured victory in every race and Sprint so far this year, boasting a 208-point advantage over Mercedes in the Constructors' standings while Max Verstappen leads teammate Sergio Perez by 99 points in the Drivers' title race. Despite its dominance, there are no signs of letting up from the Milton Keynes-based outfit ahead of the summer break as it pushes the envelope with its sidepod design. Teams up and down the grid have migrated towards the aggressive undercut philosophy used by Red Bull since the introduction of the new technical regulations last season - McLaren emerging second fastest at the British Grand Prix with a Red Bull-esque look. The new design has a much wider, shallower sidepod inlet, which continues the trend from the second version of the design which had already reduced the height of the inlet from the launch specification.
Should the upgrade work as desired, it would tighten Red Bull's stranglehold at the top of F1's pecking order. Not only would this allow for the team to begin to switch full focus to next season at an earlier date, should it wish to, but it would also continue the push to become the first team to win every race in a campaign in F1 history. McLaren came closest with 15 wins from 16 races in 1988, though Verstappen and Perez still need to share another 12 victories between each other to achieve the feat.
