The FIA has lengthened one of the three DRS zones in use for this weekend's Miami Grand Prix in a bid to add overtaking opportunities.
The decision has been taken to lengthen the zone on the curved straight into Turn 11 by 75 metres, with the activation point positioned 30 metres after Turn 9.
Last year, drivers could only open the DRS when they passed through the activation point that was 105 metres after the corner.
The detection point, located 90 metres after Turn 8, has remained unchanged.
The decision could have significant results on race day as the braking zone into Turn 11 is regarded as the best overtaking point on the circuit, leading into the slow, tight section under the underpass.
The Miami Autodrome has been modified slightly in other areas.
This includes a repositioning of the white line and the addition of a blue line at Turn 6, changes to the manholes at Turns 3 and 6 as well as between Turns 8 and 9, and a realignment of the wall on the ride side of Turn 16.
The on-track action in Miami will get underway at 12:30 local time with the sole practice session of the sprint weekend.
